Success Stories:

Designing a Pharmacy for Smarter Care

“As hospital readmission strain healthcare systems, pharmacies are rethinking the role they play in the connected healthcare workflow. Hospitals want to enable pharmacists to provide more informed counseling, while leveraging the pharmacy as a channel to encourage patients to be more proactive in their health. USF Health at the University of South Florida, Tampa, has digitally transformed its pharmacy with Onyx medical grade all-in-one computing systems, powered by Intel® processors. At USF Pharmacy Plus*, new Internet of Things (IoT) technologies allow patients to conduct follow-up visits via video conference and real-time screen sharing with doctors. Robotic arms can automatically fill prescriptions, and pharmacists can connect to patient records to help avoid drug interactions or allergic reactions. This new generation of pharmacy is leading to fewer hospital readmission, more satisfied patients, and a higher caliber of care.”

“Advancing in medical imaging processing technology has always been a critical demand to aid high risk surgeries.  From vital sign monitoring in ICU to 3D skull printing analysis for Neurosurgery, ONYX ZEUS all-in-one medical workstation powered by Intel technology enables surgeon to make real-time clinical decisions with simultaneous access to high precision medical images and electronic health records. “

Benefit:

The Onyx Medical Workstation is designed to provide benefits to the healthcare system by improving safety and the efficacy of delivering patient care. This is done by implementing the highest quality materials and technologies into an industry leading product. All factors going into the design of unit are intended to make it the most powerful medical workstation available on the market.

Designed primarily for medical environments like operating rooms, emergency departments, intensive care units, and reading rooms where intensive image data processing, high definition and crystal clear images are necessary for critical patient care, the Onyx Medical Workstation includes additional features to optimize performance and ease of use.

It has an IP65 rated waterproof front panel, antimicrobial exterior, is fanless to prevent the spread of airborne contaminants, and can be safely cleaned with alcohol. Its high-definition 10-point multi-touch screen provides smooth operation when multitasking on a single user interface, or when multi-point input is required, for example, zooming in/out of an image. The touchscreen is also sensitive enough that it can easily register being touched even if the user is wearing gloves.
It features a powerful Intel® 6th Gen. Core™ i7 processor, high capacity RAM memory to maximize performance, is expandable to allow for additional peripheral connections, and has a built-in backup battery to keep the unit powered in the event of a power failure.

The Onyx Medical Workstation has isolated I/O ports that block noise and improve signal transmission quality, and ensure that signal and voltage feedback loops are eliminated so as not to compromise patient safety due to high voltage issues.
