The Ergotron WorkFit-S, Sit-Stand Workstations are desk mounted systems that provide improved ergonomic functionality. The S series utilized a stationary vertical track solution which clamps to the front of the desk. This mounting method makes it easy to attach, however because it is so far forward it can cause some space issues. The vertical track is angled slight backwards so when the solution is raised to the highest point the user stands close to the desk, but when placed in the lowest position for standing heights the user actually must sit further away from the desk then normal which can be inconvenient. Also because it is mounted to the front and is stationary there is no way to move it out of the way if additional work space is needed. Ergotron does provide a version with an optional work surface, but that is raised above the actual desk so it does not provide a large continuous area. The S series does offer multiple options such as dual monitor support and heavy duty versions for heavier IT equipment. The S series does require some assembly when first delivered, but installation should not take an excessive amount of time. Cable management is done externally, so while Ergotron does provide some covers and zip ties to help clean it up, the cables are not hidden like some similar solutions. Overall the S series provides a decent entry in the ergonomic sit/stand space, but the limited range of space/adjustment may not be an ideal solution for some users.
